Frameworks, Standards and Indices
Frameworks, standards, and indices provide useful tools for companies, investors, and other stakeholders to evaluate and compare the performance of organisations in terms of their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors.
They can help businesses increase accountability by establishing concrete expectations and baselines for their own and their suppliers’ social and environmental responsibility. These tools provide stakeholders with a better understanding of the ESG performance of the company, strengthening their ability to feel more confident in investment decisions or purchase preferences.
There are a wide range of frameworks and standards which many companies having chosen to publish sustainability information against. Asesoria has been helping organisations navigate the complexities of these over the past decade. Some of those frameworks and standards include the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) (which have now merged to form the Value Reporting Foundation), the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the recommendations of the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Task Force on Inequality-related Financial Disclosures (TIFD), United Nations’ Global Compact and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, all provide approaches to advance environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance universally. We can also support organisations align to sector specific standards such as the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS)
Indices provide a quantitative method to measure the ESG performance of a company and its position relative to its competitors, industry, and the wider global market. Indices track a wide variety of ESG factors in order to provide investors, stakeholders, and other parties with a transparent comparison of organisations performance. Asesoria has been supporting clients with the completion of investor questionnaires and responding to investor feedback for many years. Our experience in ESG Indices includes CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), EcoVadis, FTSE4Good, ISS ESG, Moody’s ESG, Morningstar Sustainalytics, MSCI, and S&P Global ESG (DJSI).
Asesoria can support your business in navigating the range of standards and frameworks and assist you in completing investor surveys to ensure your company’s achievements are presented and articulated correctly.
