We have recently seen an increase in companies wishing to commit and submit targets to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). SBTi is a partnership between CDP, World Resources Institute, the Worldwide Fund for Nature, and the United National Global Compact with the goal of encouraging organisations to make ambitious emissions reduction targets and make real progress towards achieving Net Zero.

As the focus on Social Value increases both in public and private sector procurement organisations need to consider their strategy.
Social value needs to be more than a quick round of charitable giving but rather something which delivers real results requiring a long-term strategic overview alongside a plan which will take time to implement and achieve.

We support strategy development and can manage the process and engagement to deliver success.

Assessing what areas are materially important to an organisation helps inform: the ESG strategy; the initiatives to be developed; and gives a focus for ESG reporting. Our tailored approach involves several steps, to allow the approach to be “tested” with a range of key stakeholders. The results of our materiality assessments and engagement with stakeholders has enabled organisations to reorient their time, resources and investments to create value in line with their business model and purpose.
We have been conducting materiality assessments for over 10 years helping businesses to understand how ESG topics have an impact on their business and stakeholders, developing our approach alongside new guidance and regulations. With the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) legislation we have further developed our approach to include double materiality which will be mandatory for many from 2025 onwards.

A gap assessment is a systematic process for evaluating the key strengths and areas for improvement between an organisation’s current state and its desired future position. This analysis can be a valuable tool in several contexts such as business management, project planning and compliance with regulatory standards. By identifying these gaps, organisations can gain helpful insights into areas that require more development.
We tailor our gap assessments for the individual organisation and the applicable standard. The typical steps include a desk review of key documentation, interviews with key individuals followed by a comprehensive report with prioritised recommendations.
Verification and assurance are key components in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of sustainability reporting. Verification and assurance have become increasingly important to stakeholders as it provides confidence and transparency in an organisation’s sustainability reporting. Many companies are recognising the need to report on their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, to meet the expectations of investors, customers, and regulators.
Asesoria has been verifying non-financial data using the AA1000 framework for over 10 years. Data assurance and verification should be a continuous process which starts with a well-defined process of collecting and disclosing data.
Board Training and Facilitation sessions provide board directors with the latest best practice to be effective in their roles, keep abreast of stakeholder expectations and stay well informed on changes in regulations.
Board facilitated sessions can include topics such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) best practices and the latest in regulations.
