Our people

We have a very flat management structure, with individual Practice Leads having overall responsibility for delivering our clients’ projects. They are supported by funtion heads and managing consultants who have a wealth of specialist knowledge, possessing extensive business and consultancy experience across a range of sectors. We also have a number of associates that support when additional resource or specific expertise is required.  The team we assign to each project has the skill set and experience required to deliver the brief and agreed outcomes. Melissa Kittermaster, CEO and Practice Lead – Board Effectiveness and Governance

As Chief Executive Melissa is responsible for the group’s strategic direction and is also actively involved in client projects.  She leads and is operationally responsible for the Board Effectiveness and Governance practice (Board Insight) www.boardinsight.co.uk.  Following a successful executive career, Melissa has been advising boards of FTSE 100, FTSE 250 and large private organisations for over 15 years on a range of governance issues including board effectiveness and diversity, policy implementation, stakeholder engagement and development of strategy around ESG issues.  She spends much of her time advising on effective governance frameworks and delivering board evaluations, as well as supporting boards on reporting around non-financial initiatives.  She undertakes regular engagement with shareholders and other key stakeholders to understand their expectations of corporate governance and the impact board decisions have on these stakeholder groups. She is very comfortable operating in the boardroom and her work involves presenting at board meetings.

Tony Hoskins, Chair

Tony has extensive experience in governance, corporate responsibility, stakeholder communications and annual non financial reporting. He has undertaken projects for a wide range of companies including major multinational companies, and has an in-depth understanding of the issues faced by boards in managing risks and integrating these matters into business practices and strategy. He is a Non-Executive Director on a number of boards and has advised boards for over 20 years on risks and reputation.

Prior to his role as Chair of Asesoria Group he was Chief Executive of The Virtuous Circle, a management consultancy specialising in reputation and risk.  Before his consultancy career Tony held Board level general management, sales and marketing positions in UK & US companies.

Anne-Marie Rowson, Practice Lead – Leadership Capability and Succession Planning

Anne-Marie is a business psychologist with a 30 year career that includes senior roles in FTSE 100 companies and external consulting experience.  She has worked in the UK and internationally for both listed companies, private organisations and  the public sector.  She has first-hand experience of what happens in organisations during market downturns, mergers, acquisitions, transformational change and corporate renewal and this combined with her strategic and systemic thinking, enables her to identify the key challenges for clients, both at individual and organisational level.  

She has a deep understanding of what effective leadership looks like in a variety of contexts and focuses on the design and execution of strategically relevant development solutions that drive the selection of highly capable individuals as well as the collective development of leaders at all levels of the organisation.  She also has expertise in developing strategic succession planning and talent management activities with a clear focus on defining and identifying high potentials.

Dr Nick Murry, Head of Sustainability and Climate Change 

Nick is a sustainability and climate change professional with more than 25 years’ experience in his chosen field. He has worked as an advisor to large corporations and as corporate sustainability lead within organisations. He has experience of working for both public and private sector clients, in the UK and internationally, for international institutions (World Bank, European Commission, United Nations), NGOs, government departments, local authorities and private sector businesses, including SMEs. Recent experience includes supporting a variety of different types of organisation in developing and implementing sustainability and climate strategies, including helping to embed sustainability internally and within their value chains.

Nick is also a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management’s (CIWEM) ‘Climate Change Specialist Panel’. Nick’s other interests include (part-time) lecturing in Environmental Management at Bath Spa University.

Simon Whitehouse, Head of Leadership and Management Development

    Simon has responsibility for the day to day strategy and continual development of our Leadership            and Management Development function.  During an extensive career within two global corporations,      Simon gained experience of building leadership capability at all levels of the organisation,                          management development, graduate recruitment & development, project management and all                aspects of HR in roles including Head of Learning & Development and HR Director.  For the last 15            years Simon has designed and delivered leadership and management development programmes in          the UK and internationally within both private and public sectors across a broad range of                            organisations and industry sectors. He uses his practical experience and innovative thinking,                      with a broad understanding of theoretical concepts to drive improved organisational performance.

Louise Wareham, Project Resourcing and Administration Manager

Louise has a wealth of administrative, project management and sustainability knowledge gained through working within both SMEs and global FTSE organisations across a wide range of sectors, including Financial, Media, Leisure and Defence. She is an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Specialist, being familiar with health and safety and sustainability data analysis and reporting for Corporate Responsibility and annual report requirements. She is also familiar with the major sustainability investor indices, having managed and submitted responses on behalf of a global FTSE 30 company for a number of years. Louise heads up our dedicated Project Resourcing and Administration team and is responsible for the oversight of all projects, including the management of project plans, the review of outputs, key milestones and lessons learnt. She also manages the quality and review process at the end of each assignment.
